Top 5 Tourist Destinations in Gujarat Walmart Travels

Situated on the west coast of India between Maharashtra and Rajasthan, Gujarat was not a tourist feature until recent years.

A very successful series of advertising campaigns with Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has however changed this, and increasing tourist interest in the state. There are some truly amazing places to visit in Gujarat, which have diverse attractions like handicrafts, architecture, temples and wildlife. It is worthwhile getting out and about, away from major cities, and exploring.

1 Ahmedabad Old City
Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat for many centuries, was declared India's first UNESCO World Heritage City, defeating both Delhi and Mumbai in 2017. Its walled old city was founded by Sultan Ahmed Shah in the 15th century, and is home to diverse Hindu, Islamic and Jain communities. The old city is divided into several Poles (historic residential neighborhoods with winding alleys and carved wooden houses). In addition, it has some of the finest examples of Indo-Islamic architecture and Hindu Muslim art in India. read more - book gujarat holiday tour package.

2 Sun Temple, Modhera
The peaceful village of Modhera is one of the most important sun temples in India. Built in the 11th century by the Solanki dynasty rulers, it is dedicated to the Sun God. The temple is a substantial structure, consisting of a carved step tank, assembly hall and main temple. It is included in intricate stone sculptures. The sanctum sanctorum is positioned in such a way that it receives the first rays of the sun on the equinox in the morning.

3 Kutch Region
The Kutch region of Gujarat is sometimes referred to as the 'Wild West' of India. This vast stretch of largely barren and harsh desert landscape is apparently spread over 70,000 square kilometers, and is one of the largest districts in the country. Its name, Kutch (or Kutch), refers to the fact that it is a choice between wet (submerged during the monsoon season) and dry. Most of the seasonal lakes of Kutch are known as the Great Rann of Kutch (famous for its salt desert) and the smaller Rann of Kutch. read more - book dwarka somnath tour package.

Isolated and off-the-beaten track, Marine National Park is located along the coast en route to Dwarka. It was established in 1982 as a national park and is the first of its kind in India. Yet many people do not know about it. The national park is made up of 42 islands, 33 of which are surrounded by coral reefs, and is home to diverse marine and bird life.
